I would like to talk to you today about towels and Egyptian towels in particular. These types of towels are well known for being a higher quality than the rest. Is there a good reason for this? Yes there is.

The first sign of quality is the name 'Egyptian towels'. You don't put your name to anything before you believe in its quality. The Egyptians have put their name to their towels and this must mean they are confident in them. How many other countries have done that? Have you ever heard of UK towels?

So why are Egyptian towels so much better than the rest of the world? Well it is primarily down to the materials. The towels are made from cotton and the cotton that they produce in Egypt is different from the rest of the world as it is a lot thinner.

How does thinner cotton help? Well the thinner cotton is a real advantage. It is an advantage because you can use more of it in the same surface area. The more cotton you can use the better quality it is.

So what does this mean for the price? Will it be higher? The answer is generally yes. When you think about it does make sense. The thinner thread in Egyptian towels means they use more of it as we have already said. As you are using more of the materials the cost of producing it also is higher.

Another cost that we haven't spoken about yet is transport costs. This cotton comes from Egypt so it needs to get to countries like the UK. That means either the towel or the cotton has to be imported which costs money.

The Egyptians have given us great things over the years. They have given us the pyramids and a fantastic civilization, and now we have Egyptian towels that we can use.
